Built Resilient was founded by Laura Jones, a veteran and former VA claims specialist based in Washington State.

After navigating the VA claims process herself, Laura saw how many veterans were leaving benefits on the table — not because they didn’t qualify, but because the system was too confusing to navigate alone. She made it her mission to educate and empower veterans to advocate for themselves.

When her VA position was cut in 2025 due to funding, and then struggled to find employment as a VSO, she signed up for an entrepreneur class to learn how to turn her skills and passion for educating veterans into a consulting business.

She founded Built Resilient to deliver claims education workshops and customized individual support, to empower our under-served veterans and communities that serve them.

Laura meets veterans where they are, with a focus on those who often fall through the cracks: veterans with less-than-honorable discharges, LGBTQ+ veterans, women veterans, unhoused veterans, and peacetime veterans.

Built Resilient also partners with nonprofits, community organizations, veteran service groups, and impact driven veteran-owned businesses to support this critical mission.
